AAA batteries can be recycled at your local Aldi, Officeworks, Battery World and Recycling Centres. If you search for AAA battery in the app, your closest recycling location will be displayed.
Batteries are a major source of contamination in kerbside bins. They contain toxic chemicals that pose health and safety risks for the people handling your kerbside waste and have caused fires at material recovery facilities.
On the flip side the materials used to make batteries, like lead, cadmium, mercury, lithium, nickel and zinc are valuable resources to recover. Please always recycle your batteries via a nominated collection point.
