Clothing and textiles are not accepted in your kerbside recycling bin, as they can cause issues with machinery at recycling facilities. However, there are several great alternatives to throwing clothes in the general waste bin:

• If your clothes are in good condition, consider donating them to a local charity shop or clothing collection point. You can use the Recycle Mate app or website to find donation locations near Tea Tree Gully.

• If they’re worn or damaged, some retailers and organisations accept clothing for textile recycling or reuse – for example, for use as rags or insulation.

• You can also try repurposing old clothes at home for cleaning cloths, crafts, or pet bedding.
