Hi Chantelle

Thank you for your recycling question. Across Australia the guidelines for how to recycle or safely dispose of different types of glass vary widely, it’s great you’ve contacted us.

In your local government area a microwave glass plate is not accepted in the kerbside recycling bin.

Many glass products contain additives that are not recyclable when mixed with food and beverage bottles and jars. These items contaminate the glass recycling process and can result in waste if glass loads are rejected.

Please (carefully!) wrap your pane glass in scrap newspaper and place it in your general waste bin.

Thank you for reaching out to Recycle Mate, please contact us again any time with your recycling enquiries.
