In your local government area, picture frame glass is not accepted in the kerbside recycling bin.
Glass used for picture frames has a different melting point compared to the glass used in bottles and jars. Many recycling facilities have indicated that toughened or specialty glass in kerbside recycling can cause imperfections in the final recycled product. This often results in entire glass loads being sent to landfill.
Please (carefully!) wrap the picture frame glass in scrap newspaper and place it in your general waste bin.
