Inflatable pool toys are not recyclable in your home kerbside recycling bin. The kerbside system is designed to handle everyday packaging waste like disposable bottles, jars, and containers, so other plastic household items cannot be processed.
If your PVC inflatable pool toy is in good condition, consider using Recycle Mate to find a charity shop or other nearby location accepting donations.
If the inflatable item is damaged or not in good condition, please place it in your general waste bin. To help prevent the item from becoming lodged in your bin, fold the deflated toy to compact it and, if possible, place it in a bag.
Currently, PVC is a difficult material to recover, and we have not yet identified any recycling options for inflatable pools or pool toys. If you do find local recycling or re-use options, we would love to hear about them!
