Hi Max,
Thank you for your recycling question.
PVC pipes, joints, and tubing are not suitable for your kerbside recycling bin, as the system is designed primarily for common household packaging materials like bottles, jars, and containers. Items like PVC pipes fall outside of this scope and can’t be processed through regular recycling collections.
If you only have a small amount of PVC pipe, you can place it in your general waste bin. However, for larger quantities—especially from renovation or construction—these should be taken to a facility that accepts construction and demolition waste. Fees may apply at these sites.
As an alternative, you might consider contacting local community groups, wildlife organisations, or gardening centres. PVC pipes are sometimes reused to create animal shelters or garden infrastructure like worm farms or irrigation systems. If you do find a creative reuse option locally, we’d love to hear about it and potentially add it to our recommendations.
Thanks again for your question—please don’t hesitate to reach out with any others.
Thanks,
Murphy
