Hi Wendy
Thank you for your question and for including a photo with your enquiry.
The “tube light” you were searching for is a great example of community language and the different names we all use for everyday household items. We currently have a few different items listed for “fluorescent light”, however, we will review this with the team to add “tube light” to the Recycle Mate database to help others in future.
Tube lights/ fluorescent lights contain hazardous materials that don’t belong in landfill and can not be placed in any of your kerbside bins. Fluorescent tubes and lamps contain small amounts of mercury and require special disposal.
Check Recycle Mate to find your closest drop-off point accepting fluorescent tubes, fees and charges may or may not apply depending on the location. Our team has completed a search on your behalf and has found the following locations:
- Beenleigh Waste & Recycling Facility
- Stotts Creek Resource Recovery Centre
I hope this helps!
Thank you for your recycling enquiry. Please feel free to get in touch with Recycle Mate again any time.
