The term “tube light” is a great example of how we all use different names for the same item. To help others find it more easily in the future, we'll review this with our team and look at adding “tube light” as a searchable term in the Recycle Mate database.
Fluorescent lights (tube lights) contain small amounts of mercury and are considered hazardous waste, so they must not be placed in any of your kerbside bins. These lights require special disposal through approved recycling or drop-off points.
You can use the Recycle Mate app or website to find your nearest collection facility for fluorescent tubes. Fees may apply depending on the location.
